Today I went into 3 of my breeder tanks for routine upkeep. In my situation this involvesa complete water change and assessment of all fish in the tank. This includes working on the gender ratio of the colony, stripping any holding females if I am working with mouth-brooders and making sure alll is well in general.
Today’s production included a heap of OB Peacocks, not somehing i am a fan of but they do help pay the bills) and some Pseudotropheus elongatus Mphanga from tank B16. Tank B15 didn’t produce any babies so just new wter and filters cleaned there. The gighlifht was defintely tank B10. I stripped a young Lethrinops sp. Gold harbour Monkey Bay which had around 30fairly new eggts which are now tumbling. Best of all I stripped 2 Labidochromis chismulae Mbweca which yielded about 20free swimming fry. These are not so common in Australia at this stage so this was a great result.
